Career Center Courses
  • This class allows you to learn about your interests and jobs that relate to your personality.  You will also be exposed to guest speakers and travel to several different job areas.

  • Information Technology: Information Systems and Support(IT-ISS) is an introduction to computer repair, maintenance and support. It is a year long Career and Technical Education (CTE) course design to prepare students to pass the CompTIA A+ certification exams.  This course could also lead to entry level employment as a PC Technician.  Students become members in Business Professionals of America (BPA) and the Microsoft Developers Network Academy Alliance (MSDNAA) upon enrolling in this class.

  • Information Technology: Multimedia and Web Development (IT-MWD) is an introduction to a career in interactive media and web development. It is a year long Career and Technical Education (CTE) course design to prepare students to pass the CIW Web Foundations certification exam.  It could also lead to entry level employment in a number of interactive media occupations.  Students become members in Business Professionals of America (BPA) and the Microsoft Software Developers Alliance MSDNAA upon enrolling in the class.

  • Information Technology: Networking Systems Administration (IT-NSA) is an introduction to how computers are networked, computer servers and the Internet. It is a year long Career and Technical Education (CTE) course design to prepare students for entry-level networking and to pass the CompTIA Network+ certification exam.  This course could also lead to entry level employment as a Networking Technician or Microsoft Windows Server Administrator.  Students also become members of Business Professionals of America (BPA) and the Microsoft Software Developers Neetwork Academy Alliance (MSDNAA).

  • Information Technology: Programming & Software Development - Java (IT-PSD-J) is the second year, more advanced computer programming course in Java. Students will also be introduced to the XNA Game Studio 3.1 for creating games on the PC or XBox 360. It is a year long Career and Technical Education (CTE) course design to prepare students to how to program at the entry-level and pass the Sun Microsystems Java certification exam.  This course could also lead to entry level employment as a Java Developer.  Students become members in Business Professionals of America (BPA) and the Microsoft Developers Network Academy Alliance (MSDNAA) upon enrolling in the class.

  • Information Technology: Programming & Software Development - Visual Basic (IT-PSD-VB) is an introduction to computer programming in Visual Basic. This year it will be version 2008 to start then we will port to Visual Basic 2010. It is a year long Career and Technical Education (CTE) course design to prepare students to how to program at the entry-level and pass the Microsoft MCSD certification exams.  This course could also lead to entry level employment as a Visual Basic Programmer.  Students become members in Business Professionals of America (BPA) and the Microsoft Developers Network Academy Alliance (MSDNAA) upon enrolling in the class.
